Creative Movement - Ages 3 - 4 yrs. 30 minutes. This class returns in March and combines dance, music, reading, and fun! *Uniform not required; comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement.
Pre-Ballet and Tap Combo I & II - Ages 4 - 6 yrs. 45 minutes. This combo class introduces young students to basic ballet and tap steps and short combinations. Special focus on musicality and working together as a group is emphasized.
Beginning Ballet I - V - Ages 7 -13 yrs. 45/60/90 minutes. Training begins with the basic fundamentals of classical ballet technique. Emphasis is placed on basic skills, flexibility, musicality, and vocabulary that will allow students to move into formal training.
Beginning Tap I - III - Ages 7 - 13 yrs. 30 minutes. This class is designed for anyone that loves to move and have fun. Students will be introduced to fundamental tap terminology and technique consisting of individual steps and combinations.
Yoga I - Fundamentals of yoga will be introduced through repeated exercises. Participants will be encouraged to learn movement adaptations appropriate to their individual body and skill level. Class is suitable for participants of all fitness levels. Enrollment is open to high school students and adults.
Upper Division - placement by Director only
Ballet I - V - 60 - 120 minutes. Formal ballet training begins with an emphasis on barre work, focusing on muscle development, placement, strength, and control. Simple floor combinations, focusing on body alignment and balance, allow students to develop poise, self-confidence, physical coordination, and strength. Students at these levels are required to take a minimum of two or more classes each week.
Pre-Pointe & Pointe - Ages: Minimum 12 yrs. & older, 30 minutes. Pre-Pointe and Pointe are part of the regular class curriculum in levels III – V. Once approved for pointe classes, students are required to take a minimum of three classes per week.
Variations, Character, Pas de deux. As students progress, variations, character dance, and pas de deux (partnering) are added to the regular curriculum in levels II – V.
