The study of classical ballet is a beautiful, yet demanding art form that not only provides a form of exercise, but an opportunity for students to develop valuable life skills – self-discipline, self-confidence, concentration, social interaction, creativity, and an appreciation for the arts they can carry with them throughout their lives.
At the Wisconsin Ballet Academy we are committed to providing the highest quality classical ballet training available and strive to inspire and educate our students in a healthy and non-competitive environment.
Our curriculum begins with Creative Movement classes for toddlers, which is the pathway for Pre-Ballet and Beginning Ballet. Formal classical ballet training begins with Ballet I and consists of 5 levels. In addition, pointe, character, variations, and pas de deux are introduced with the formal ballet classes as the student progresses. Specifically designed classes for boys, teens, and adults are also offered.
Class sizes are limited to ensure individual attention. Proper training is of the utmost importance and class time is spent on learning correct technique to ensure all students develop a strong technical foundation necessary to advance to higher levels.
Children, as well as adults, will have an opportunity to perform at academy recitals and special events. Participation in these events are voluntary and rehearsals are held outside of regular class times.
Throughout the year, we will schedule dance and music related enrichment programs and workshops offering cross cultural and contemporary dance classes. Summer will bring ballet and dance workshops allowing students an opportunity to try a new dance style and learn some dance history as well.
We also offer Modern, Ballroom, and Yoga classes. Visit the Classes & Schedule page for further information.
